Authorities Seize 7 Pounds of Marijuana from Seaside Heights House, Trailer

Two Seaside Heights residents charged in drug case

Authorities executed a search warrant on a Seaside Heights residence and a nearby trailer Monday, eventually seizing seven pounds of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia, Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said Tuesday.

A married couple, Vincent Craparotta III and Jenna R. Craparotta, both 30 and borough residents, were arrested and face drug charges.

Detectives from the prosecutor's Special Operations Group along with Seaside Heights police searched the home at 121 Webster Avenue, as well as a trailer on Hiering Avenue, a statement from the prosecutor's office said.

The search was the culmination of an investigation into drug activity.

Police seized approximately seven pounds of marijuana along with approximately $3,000 dollars in cash, the statement said, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Both of the suspects arrested resided in the home that was searched, the statement said.

Vincent Craparotta III was charged with possession of marijuana over five pounds, possession of marijuana over five pounds with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana over five pounds with intent to distribute while being within 500 feet of a public beach and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with possession of marijuana over fifty grams and possession of marijuana over one ounce but less than five pounds.

Total bail was set at $135,000 by Superior Court Judge Francis R. Hodgson, Jr.

Vincent Craparotta remained lodged at the Ocean County Jail Tuesday, records showed.

Jenna Craparotta was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and released on a summons.

Just what Seaside needs. This could be very bad for Hemingway's, the employees, the town trying to come back from Sandy. If they find he was dealing in the club, that could be the end for them. So many people suffer by other's stupidity

Im not sure about the comments made previously. I am certain from my days in Vailsburg section of Newark that the Craparottas were a well connected family. Many may remember the golf club hit in Toms River. So im sure this is all a misunderstanding.

My name is John Saaddy. My sister and I operate the bamboo bar and karma nightclub. The liquor license is in my sister's name and she primarily works in the office doing payroll, bills, filing and handling the regulatory paperwork a business in NJ needs. I handle the general operation of the nightclubs with additional managers. My dream was to build a strip of clubs, pubs and restaurants. We added the upscale Luna rosa facilty and the new addition to the bamboo will handle a new restaurant. We recently purchased merge nightclub and hope to add another resturant to compliment klees and top of spaghetti. My family have never had any affiliation with hemingways but considerd the property a great asset to the boulevard. I have worked with the prosecutors office many times to rid seaside of drugs and my property's have confiscated thousands of fake id's. I can be found every night the bamboo is open in the facility and I would appreciate you coming up to me face to face, man to man and explains to me your conspiracy theories. Vinny please stopin, i will leave your name on the guest list

John, I can appreciate the fact that you would defend them because of your personal connection, however...if you break the law you certainly are not a good upstanding citizen that SSH can be proud of and you need to pay the price. Yes, I will withhold my further comments until proven guilty.

Alot of the bars in Seaside have drug activity going on, either by the bar patrons or employees.

The bars sell a lot of drugs themselves...beer, liquor, wine. For some reason, people seem to find this acceptable, regardless of how many addictions, deaths, car crashes and hospital trips these terrible drugs cause. I say shut them down. Legal drugs are still drugs.

Thank you Munson 15.
Stay At Home Mama, (and props to you for being home with your kids...the most important job) I will explain my affiliation with the DeRosa family. Technically they rent the restaurant from Karma, however I don't consider them a tenant. I look at them as my partner. The DeRosa family has worked extremely hard over the last 6 years to create a great restaurant. We are expanding this spring to handle the immense requests for private parties, the addition of a sushi bar and cater to a new lounge. The DeRosa's are an asset to Seaside Heights.

Lol...let me know when they find some real drugs. I think pot is the least of seaside's problems. If only all those drunks were just stoned..watch how fast violence and car wrecks would decline. All of you righteous morons ought to be calling for the bars to be shut down if you're so concerned about public safety.

Oh right, alcohol doesn't count as a drug since it's legal. Well the potheads aren't staggering out into the street belligerently starting fist fights and wrapping their cars around telephone poles.

Why all the slur on family names? All these restaurant owners are hard working people and are doing all they can to make SSH better. And that has not been an easy task considering the years I have known it! May definitely not been a wise choice to deal pot...if that was intention...innocent before guilty..but maybe OC should take a deeper look at what really is killing our children. Heroin...how about spending task force time on that one?
