Anyone Out There Know What's Coming To The Old Foodtown Site?

Large sign in window of supermarket that closed earlier this year

I snapped this picture over the weekend. The sign is prominently posted on the front of the old Foodtown supermarket and announces that a new business is coming.

One reader recently said in an e-mail she heard an Aldi's was coming. Anyone else heard anything? Wick Properties offices are closed for the weekend, so we can't check with them for comment today.

What would you like to see there? Tell us in the comments below!

I agree...Whole Food's or a Trader Joe's would be great. Dont think it's big enough for a Wegmans.

I think the store is to large for an Aldi's unless they partition part off it off?

The only suspicious thing is the sign saying a new Super Market is coming soon has been up in the window for several months and nothing has been announced?

I spoke to Wick's office two weeks ago. The only information they would share is that they would be announcing soon.

Shop and Stop would be much too expensive. I think it's too small for a Wegman's, but I'd love to see a Trader's Joe with a wine license.

I also heard a Bowling Ally! Wegmans will never come to Bayville! I doubt Trader Joe's would either. Buy Rite is supposed to open up at another location in the plaza! So there goes the liquor license. They say Taco Bell is taking over the old Burger King!

I agree Paula.....we go to Trader Joe's every few weeks to stock up on gluten free items that are twice the price at Shoprite. And if there is a liquor license they could sell wine : )

I saw the "Clarks Family Market" coming soon sign today. Never heard of Clark's. What is it? Sounds like a nice store though. Also, there was a drug store...RiteAid? I think...has moved from there recently. Seems like nothing can last there. Sign of the times. Hopefully the economy will pick up and bring more jobs/shopping choices to Bayville.
