The offices of Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) were able to re-open on Monday, November 5^th.  Staff and volunteers have been calling the over 2000 homebound frail, elderly that they assist to assess their emergency need for food and medicine.  CVCJ is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to assist the homebound, frail elderly with task which allow them to remain independent, in their own homes.

CVCJ Volunteers have been stepping forward to fill as many requests as possible since numerous elderly residents remained in their homes and now have no support to help them in the storm’s aftermath.  According to Executive Director, Lynette Whiteman, “the response of our volunteers has been inspiring.  Some of our volunteers have lost their own homes and have no power, yet are willing to help someone in need.  We are extremely proud to be part of this caring community”.
